Feeling guilty and stressed eating that slice of pizza?
You’re tired of being on the off again, on again diet cycle, but still want to practice healthy habits so you can feel good in your body and enjoy your life.
You’re relationship with food and exercise is all over the place, and you’d like to be in more control once and for all.
You would love to stop bingeing ice cream at midnight, move your body that doesn’t require hours in the gym as self punishment, and actually feel confident in that bathing suit. You’d love it if you can dine out with your friends and actually enjoy the company instead of worrying the whole time about calories in your food. I get it!
If this sounds like you, you have come to the right place.
Hi, I’m Deanna,
I’m a non-diet Health and Wellness/Intuitive Eating coach who helps women who want to get off the diet/restrict cycle, so they can focus on the more important things in life that can bring them joy and confidence.
When women come to me, they are sick of diet culture but are not sure how to live a life where they still feel good in their bodies. So we work together to take action that will help you on your journey to become the best version of yourself without having to pursue weight loss and live a life with purposeful joy.
You see, I know what is like to be on the on again off again diet cycle since I was 14 years old and be stressed about it all. Food occupied my mind so much, leaving little room to truly enjoy my life with the people I care about including myself.
I was obsessed with how “I should eat healthy” that it stressed me out to the point I was really not taking care of myself mentally, emotionally and spiritually so was I really practicing healthy habits at this point?
I would overeat to the point where I felt very uncomfortable and feeling extremely guilty about it all. I would then try to restrict, only to be bingeing again.
I would hit the gym and go hard since I felt that was the only way it counted, only to fall off the wagon and not exercise at all again.
No matter how much I lost weight, I was never satisfied with what I looked like and was constantly trying to manipulate my body, since I felt that I would be worthy of love if I was in the smallest body. Before long, I would regain the weight and then some.
Events in my life have caused me to rethink what it means to be “healthy” and live a purposeful life full of joy and intention. After exploring this area and picking up the book “Intuitive Eating”, I discovered that:
- You can have that donut AND have that salad
- You can walk for only 15 minutes for movement and it will still count
- Weight is NOT a behavior
- You can keep a bag of chips in the house and not eat it all in one sitting or in one day.
- That it is worth to create those memories with your friends and family at the beach and not worry what you look like in a bathing suit
It was hard to get used to this concept that I have unconditional permission to eat all the foods and movement can be joyful at first. The concept of not going on a diet ever again scared me at first and thought I would be bingeing forever.
But before long, I started to get used to listening to my body for what it needs at the moment. My digestion started to get better, and I was much more at peace around food and movement. The fact I didn’t have to diet anymore released all the stress and guilt that surrounds around dieting and overeating. I was able to then have the space to enjoy what really matter most-my family, my health, and everything that life has to offer.
Now I guide, teach, and support other women who want a better relationship with food, movement, and body to have the same transformation that I had.
I know how freeing it is when we stop obsessing over weight and no longer feel stressed or guilty about our food choices and exercise routines. It opened up for so many other ways that I take care of myself that makes me feel more aligned with my core values.
I am so invested in this kind of work that I’ve made it my mission to help women everywhere feel peaceful and at ease around food, movement, and body.
